In an article in your Dec. 5 paper, the city of Marysville sounded delighted that the tax revenue from sales tax is growing. Imagine how fast it would grow if people could get in and out of the stores at Lakewood Commons.
The city patted itself on the back for widening 172nd and adding a right turn lane to the freeway in record time. Dont sprain your arm, Nielsen. The facts are it used to be there and was taken out. Then, we were told it would be back in February. The two-month record time was actually eight months. There have been several improvements over the duration of the Lakewood Commons fiasco, but they are often too little, too late. If the second entry had been done before building, as we were told, we could have saved much frustration and lots of letter writing.
The city of Marysville is like the man who built a ship on solid ground hoping for a very high tide to float it. Well, the tide is in and we havent seen any boats floating by at Smokey Point.
