The Marysville Community Food Bank has just been blessed with incredible community support in gathering donations from the Postal Workers Food Drive. We thank our citizens again for giving over 35,000 pounds of food.
We are now in need of volunteers, especially on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 – 11 a.m. (or time within that range). Jobs needing done are sorting and cleaning vegetables, sorting donated items into boxes/freezers, bagging basic supplies, unloading deliveries and other tasks as they come up. It is a friendly and appreciative work crew.
Also needed are a couple strong helpers with a small pick-up truck, van or trunk space to pick up boxes of donations from grocery stores in the area and unload them at the food bank. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate. Hours and days can be flexible but usually about one and a half hours would be perfect on Thursdays and Fridays between 8 and 11 a.m.
The Marysville Community Food Bank is located beside the YMCA at 6518 60th Dr. NE Follow Fourth St. east from I-5 until you come to 60th Dr. NE, turn left at the YMCA. Call us at 360-658-1054. Please ask for JoAnn or Jerry and be sure to leave a message. There is a short volunteer application form to fill out. Wed love to have your help.
