On Feb. 9, the voters of Marysville will be asked to renew our school district’s levy and bond. I am the parent of two children whose entire K-12 experiences have been in the Marysville School District. I am also a middle school educator in the district, and I urge all voters to support these important issues.
Our current administration has worked unceasingly to fulfill goals to provide high-quality education to the students of our district. New schools have been completed, both on-time and under budget. Teacher training and support has resulted in increases in reading, math and writing WASL scores. Technology improvements have occurred that provide our students with the facilities and training to prepare them for competitive, postsecondary education.
Passing of the Feb. 9 bond and levy will support the replacement of three of our district’s oldest schools, fund continued technological improvements and provide the teacher training and classroom support necessary to continue improvements in standardized test scores. As the result of a high quality Marysville School District education, my oldest child is attending a four year university. I urge voters to vote yes on Feb. 9, so our district may continue to provide the same high quality education to Marysville’s next generation of young people.
