Hometown Revue for Homegrown Festival

The first planning meeting for the Hometown Revue vaudeville and dance act for this summer’s Homegrown Festival is set for 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 24 at Marysville Performing Arts Center, 4101 78th Pl. NE, in Marysville. Organizers are looking for volunteers to help in the planning process as well as performers, dancers, actors, singing groups and any other talented characters who want to show their skills. Arbor Day

As a Tree City USA, Arlington celebrates Arbor Day with gusto. Mayor Margaret Larson launches the event at the gazebo in Legion Park starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 25. She will be followed by a series of presentations by members of the Arlington Garden Club and the garden club will be selling plants at the City Hall plaza. City staff will plant three new trees near the parking lot by the police station and the city’s natural resource manager is coordinating a tree planting project at Eagle Creek, near Post Middle School.There will be free hazelnut tree seedlings and Scott Derr will celebrate one year in business with a Garden Party from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the new location of his Instant Color store at 431 N. Sarvey brings birds to Arlington Library

Visitors to the Arlington Library will meet some new feathered friends from the Sarvey Wildlife Center and learn more about what can be done to help animals in Arlington in a presentation that starts at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 25. Auditions for Star Energy

Arlington School of Dance is holding auditions for its Star Energy dance performance group on Saturday, April 25 at the dance school on Third Street and French Avenue in Arlington. Ages 9 – teen are invited to try out with permission from their parents. Sign up at the dance school. Star Energy provides the opportunity to perform at various events. In the past, they performed in Disneyland and Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho. Audition times vary according to age. For information call dance school owner and director Becky Oesch at 360-435-4541.
