EVERETT — Brittany Baugh and Joren Thiessen, of Arlington, and David Delashmit, Dylan Olson, Matthew Thorn, and Sydney Davis, of Marysville, are in the cast of the Everett Community College production of a whimsical, imaginative fantasy, “The King Stag,” which continues one more weekend, at 7:30 p.m., June 4-6, in room 120 of Baker Hall. Everett Community College is located at 2000 Tower St. in Everett.

“The King Stag,” by Carlos Gozzi, combines the traditions of classic fairy tales and rollicking, fast-paced classic Italian commedia del’arte to create a magical world of spells and transformations.

Meet Prince Deramo, who is trying to find an honest woman to marry. With the aid of a magical truth-telling statue — a gift from the magician Norando — the prince finds the princess of his dreams. But, alas, his wicked prime minister, Tartaglia, has treason, treachery, magical curses and other terrible plans in mind. Mistaken identity, outrageous characters and fast-paced comedy bring the story to its conclusion, in which evil is conquered

The all-student cast includes Geoff Kuth, David Delashmit, Dylan Olson, Matthew Thorn, John Zoeller, Danny Nelson, Christina Leffel, Brittany Baugh, Alex DeRoest, Laura Olsen, Danny Nelson, Joren Thiessen, Galen Nowak and Sydney Davis. The director is John McKenna. The production manager and producer is EvCC theater instructor Beth Peterson.
