MARYSVILLE — It might seem a bit far north for them, but the Everett Cadets Junior Drill Team considers Marysville part of their backyard, which is why its members have collected for the Marysville Community Food Bank from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 18, at the Grocery Outlet at 9620 State Ave.
“Most of our drill team members live in Marysville,” said Alena Lefebre, a team “Pee-Wee” assistant, on Nov. 18. “Yesterday, we filled up a shopping cart full of food, and today, it looks like we’ll be able to do the same.”
Cassandra Warrick, a team “Pee-Wee” mom, praised the Marysville Community Food Bank for supporting those in need in the community, and urged community members to support their food bank in turn.
“Nobody deserves to go hungry,” Lefebre said. “We’ll do what we can to help, because we’re part of this community too.”
The Everett Cadets Junior Drill Team will personally distribute the food to the Marysville Community Food Bank at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 23.
