MARYSVILLE – On two consecutive Saturday nights, hundreds of girls and their dads took to the dance floor for the annual Father-Daughter Valentine’s Dance.
The dances at Cedarcrest Middle School sell out rapidly each year, giving fathers and their little princesses a memorable night to dress up and spend quality time together.
The dances hosted by the city of Marysville drew a large number of dads and daughters who circle the date on their dance cards each year, along with a mix of first-timers. City Recreation coordinator Andrea Kingsford said the dances went smoothly, and young and old enjoyed themselves.
The deejay from Sound Source Seattle was a master motivator on the microphone, whether calling out the Bavarian “Chicken Dance” or The Sid (the Sloth) Shuffle from the animated film, “Ice Age: Continental Drift.”
Participants were also treated to Valentine’s Day decorations, light refreshments and a formal keepsake photo.
