TULALIP – The first Revival Jam Music and Art Festival will be held Sept. 6-7 at a private property near the water in Tulalip.
The new grassroots effort will feature 11 local bands and 13 DJs.
Sean Keck, whose band plays at 11 p.m. that Friday, called it a mini version of the annual “Summer Meltdown” in Darrington with a maximum of 250 people.
Keck said his band, which has been around for 20 years, is similar to the group Phish, one he’s seen 46 times all over the country since 1996. While they mostly play original tunes they plan to cover a Phish song along with Jimi Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower” at Jam Revival.
“We’re going to bust out several covers. We like to play as many genres as possible every show so they don’t all sound the same,” Keck said, adding that includes rock, bluegrass, blues, reggae and more.
Keck said people will enjoy the event “because there’s no wasted time. It’s nonstop music. Plus the craziest light show.”
Bands will play every two hours, with DJ’s playing music in-between during bands setting up and tearing down.
