A fundraiser to help buy clothes for kids in need is planned at Wine Styles in Marysville from 4 – 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13. Bring new or slightly used clothing and enjoy wine tasting. Barden leads
discussion on the scriptures
Using a video lecture series taught by Professor Bart Ehrman, Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina, Arlington resident Frank Barden will offer an introduction to the New Testament for people who have religious commitments to it but never had a chance to get to know where it came from, what it contains and how it was transmitted down to us today. “The focus will be historical, rather than theological,” Barden said. The series begins Thursday, Nov. 13 and runs four weeks until Dec. 11, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the community room of the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, 18513 59th Avenue NE, Arlington. Bodybuilder opens new fitness studio
Two former Arlington school teachers, Leanne Christie and Angie Gooding have opened a new private studio in Smokey Point called Body & Mind Fitness Studio. The ACE-certified personal trainers are collaborating to educate members of their community about fitness and how to make it a part of their every day lives. Birdseed sale
Pilchuck Audubon Society will hold its semi-annual sale of quality bird seed Nov. 14 and 15 at Everett Transit Center parking area on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 15, or by prior arrangement, at Art Wait’s house in Snohomish Nov. 14. The sale is offered to members and other friends of birds to prepare for the winter season when birds have limted access to edibles. There will be bird seed, suet and squirrel food at good prices. Bazaar in Lakewood
To raise money for food baskets for the needy during the holidays, Faith Lutheran Church of Lakewood has announced it annual holiday bazaar with sewing, woodworking and gardening crafts and baked goods from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Nov. 15, at the church one mile west of I-5 exit 206 at 1424 172nd St. NE, Marysville. Membership drive
Horse Country Farm Top-Hands Riding Club holds its annual membership drive every November. Kids, teens and adults are welcome to join the club and learn to ride with instructions and plenty of time to practice outside of classes. Tack and equipment included as well as a horse or pony. Total cost for riding six hours a month ranges from $115 – $125.

Trail Coalition meeting
The Centennial Trail Coalition of Snohomish County will meet 7 p.m. Nov. 17 in Hadley Hall at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, when voting will take place for a new board of directors. Volunteers are needed for several positions, including chairman, vice chairman, secretary or treasurer or as adjacent property owner, bike rep., horse rep. or White Horse Trail rep. for 2009.
The coming year promises to be an exciting one, with the next section of trail north of Arlington to be constructed.
