Timber Fest
for Darrington Homecoming
Darrington Family Support and Resource Center has announced its 3rd annual Timber Fest, Friday, Oct. 24, a community networking event, with dinner served for $1, with a parade, games in the Darrington Elementary School cafeteria, raffle drawing, and the grand finale is the Homecoming game. Co-ed recreational volleyball
Volleyball for all ages is offered through the city of Arlington’s recreation program from 7-9 p.m., Friday nights through Dec. 12 at Post Middle School, 1220 E. 5th St. in Arlington. For information call 360-403-3448.
Steel Magnolias
Members of the Arlington Free Methodist Church are presenting Robert Harling’s play, “Steel Magnolias” under the direction of Jeff Craig, at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25. This is the second and final weekend of the production, which includes desserts in the $10 admission fee. The church is located at 730 E. Highland Dr., in Arlington. Aviation Seminar at Out of the Blue
Out of the Blue Aviation at Arlington Airport has announced its free G1000 aviation seminar, which will focus on the new all-glass cockpits that provide increased reliability and safety as well as increasing passenger confidence and making flying more fun too. Real Folk & friends for RESULTS
A band of local musicians, Real Folk and friends will present a fundraising concert benefiting RESULTS, to end poverty, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1607 Fourth St. in Marysville. Formerly Girls Night Out, Gal-apalooza features local designers selling apparel, jewelry and accessories, as well as vintage clothing in an art event especially for women. Wired & Unplugged moves
Formerly the every-friday open mic at Wired & Unplugged coffeehouse in Snohomish, has been moved and is going strong 7:30 p.m.every Friday evening at Tim Noah’s 501(c)3 non-profit Thumbnail Theater, at 1211 4th St. on the corner of Avenue D and 4th Street in historic downtown Snohomish.
Start time will move to 8:30 p.m. later this fall. Admission is by donation only. Audience and musicians are welcome along with a weekly featured performer

Art Matters
Members of the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild and the Camano Art Association are partnering in a new show, “Art Matters” at Four Springs Lake Preserve on Camano Island 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 1 and 2 at 585 Lewis Lane, on Camano Island.
The chair of the show, Sharon Dodge, said there will be a large variety of art in all media. Each artist is showing four or five pieces of art along with live music. Ten percent of sales from each artist will be donated to the park. For information call Dodge at 360-387-0727.
