MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of classes in the coming weeks.
Visual journaling workshop for teens
Marysville Parks and Recreation is offering a visual journaling classes for teens Wednesday, June 27. Visual journaling is much more than pretty journals.Use images, art, words and collage materials to create a picture journal of your life and feelings. Instructor Crystal Linn promises both an insightful and fun time. Workshop also includes advice on continuing your visual journal at home. The class will be held 1-3 p.m. at the Ken Baxter Community Center (514 Delta Ave). Cost is $20. All materials are provided. Ages 13-17.
Chocolate Factory class for kids offered
Come explore the exciting world of chocolate. Have fun learning about chocolate, playing chocolate games and doing fun projects that involve chocolate. Last but not least, eat lots of chocolate.This class will be offered Saturday, July 14, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jennings Parks Barn (6915 Armar Road). This is a popular summer class and it fills quickly, register today. Cost is $25. Ages 7-12.
ZumbAtomic for kids
Marysville Parks and Recreation is offering a ZumbAtomic class for kids ages 4-7. ZumbAtomic is designed to help kids develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of their lives. Kids learn fun Zumba moves and incorporate teamwork, nutrition, pride and creativity into the mix.Taught by Zumba instructor Suzanne Barrett, students can look forward to a wonderful experience. “My goal is to help people reach their fitness goals and encourage them to get healthy and dance,” Barrett said. Two courses will be offered this summer, June 25-July 16 and July 23-Aug. 13 at 3-3:45 p.m. or 4-4:45 p.m. at the Ken Baxter Community Center (514 Delta Ave). Course costs $32 and preregistration is required.
