An early look at the Marysville Strawberry Festival Talent Show at tryouts Tuesday night showed a number of exceptional dancers and dance teams, along with outstanding pianists and singers.

For the dancers, The Broadway Babies (see Page 1) were a crowd favorite, and McKenzie Raynor, at left, stood out in ballet. Vivian Palmer danced to the song, “I Will Always Love You,” and Riley Dehart also performed well, as did many other solo and duo acts. On the piano, Donald Lester, above left, showed off his fast fingers on the classic, “The Rhapsody.” A couple of bands also performed. The GMC Trio played a folk-style song, while The Ferguson Band, above right, played the rock classic, “That’s What I Like About You,” by The Romantics. On acoustic guitar, Megan Gooding played an interesting version of the song “Creep.” Two exceptional voices ended the evening. Ellie Sarr, 12, played piano and sang, while Victoria Seward sang the powerful “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical play “Les Miserables.” The top acts from the two nights of tryouts will perform in the Talent Show itself June 15 at 6:30, also at M-P. Cost at the door is $5.
