ARLINGTON – If you were worried about all the candy being eaten by kids at Halloween, there’s a solution in Arlington.
The annual Hometown Halloween in Arlington has a unique event where kids roll pumpkins down Third Street. The pumpkins take a variety of routes but usually end up being stopped by hay bales at the bottom of the hill.
Kids run after the pumpkins downhill. Many of them walk back up again and again as all the heats are free. Dozens of kids participated; it was a great way to burn off calories and have fun at the same time.
All participants received prizes in the event sponsored by Youth Dynamics.
Kids in costumes were also able to trick or treat at businesses on Olympic Avenue, and there was a costume contest with the Arlington Arts Council at Legion Park.
