MARYSVILLE – The 8th Annual Louisiana Shrimp Boil Saturday brought in thousands of dollars that will help organizations supported by the Marysville Sunrise Rotary Club.

The event started with an 18-hole, best-ball golf tournament at Cedarcrest Golf Course. Cost was $150 per person, which included the $50 dinner.

Things then moved to the Bleacher Grill patio area for the all-you-can-eat buffet. Along with shrimp there were crawfish, crab, potatoes, corn, pulled pork, rolls and butter, and much more.

For dessert, participants bid a certain amount – the top one was $350 – then got to choose their dessert in descending order.

There were drawings for numerous prizes, with tickets going for $2 each. Tickets for a cash prize of $1,000 were $5 each.

All that was followed by a live auction, which brought in much more money.

Proceeds will end up going to Rotary groups like the Marysville Boys and Girls Club, Senior Services, Salvation Army, Marysville Food Bank and Eagle Wings disAbility Ministries.

The evening ended with dancing to live classic rock music provided by Aardvarks United.
