‘Tiara Tuesdays’ let local women network, relax

“I just love tiaras,” LeAnn White said Feb. 17, as she donned her own tiara and prepared to serve wine. “So this is a chance to do that, while having a wine-tasting with good company.”

“I just love tiaras,” LeAnn White said Feb. 17, as she donned her own tiara and prepared to serve wine. “So this is a chance to do that, while having a wine-tasting with good company.”

Ever since White started “Tiara Tuesdays” at WineStyles six months ago, it’s found favor with dozens of local women who share her love of costume jewelry and socializing with other ladies. “Tiara Tuesdays” take place the third Tuesday of every month, from 5-9 p.m. at WineStyles, located in Suite A at 6608 64th St. NE in Marysville.

“It’s a girls’ night out,” said White, a server at WineStyles, of the evenings, which attract an average of 25-35 attendees, and have drawn as many as 60 tiara-wearing women at a time. “We want to give ladies a break, since so many of them work 9-5 and around the house.”

While WineStyles’ previous attempts at ladies’ nights met with more limited success, White believes that “Tiara Tuesdays” have become popular because “every woman wants to be a princess.”

“Tiara Tuesdays” also offer working women an opportunity to connect, in part by allowing them to sponsor the evenings and provide door-prizes. Local merchants have supplied jewelry, candles, shoes, food, flowers, makeup and hairstyling services.

Happi Faveo, owner of the Attic Secrets Tea Room in Marysville, has been attending “Tiara Tuesdays” since the very first evening and always reserves a table for eight now.

“It’s not just another bar,” Faveo said. “It’s something a little different. You get to sample food and wines while sharing conversations with other women in a classy atmosphere. They really treat you well here. It’s a great avenue for networking with other ladies.”

For Tammy Caldwell, Feb. 17 was only her second “Tiara Tuesday,” but after being invited by Faveo, she was eager to return.

“It’s a nice recovery from the mid-winter break, especially when you’ve got nine girls at home,” Caldwell said. “It’s just a fun place to hang out.”

White extended an open invitation to all local women to attend “Tiara Tuesdays.” Although she only works at WineStyles during evenings on Fridays and Saturdays, you can leave a message for her about “Tiara Tuesdays” at WineStyles during her off-hours by calling 360-658-4850.
