Vanessa Thompson and her dad, Jim Thompson, are busy planning her CD release party which will be in the Baltic Room in Seattle Thursday, April 24. The first half of the event is by invitation only, but it will be opened to the public at 9:30 p.m. Admisssion is $5.

Thompson performed last summer at the Tulalip Amphitheater, opening for the Beach Boys and she has sung the National Anthem at some sports events.

Her new CD, “Vanessa,” features songs written by Thompson with a few by her father who wrote them especially for her. This new Butterfly Music Productions album was produced by 57th Street Productions located in Monroe.

“We are very excited about the upcoming release of this CD,” said Jim Thompson. “It showcases another dimension of Vanessa’s musical talent,” he added.

Vanessa will perform some of the songs from her new album for special guests starting at 7 p.m. and she will perform some cover songs and songs from her new album starting at 9:45 p.m. then from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. her band will join in. The new CD as well as the former CD, “Baby This Love,” and other products will be available for sale.

Vanessa will be on the radio at KISS 101 on the Jackie and Bender Show on the morning of the release party and she will be performing from 7 – 8 p.m., May 9, at Studio 704 in Vancouver, Wash.

“The earth is starting to shake,” said her very proud father.
