For Carmen Miller, the wellness possibilities cannabis and CBD provide make it an exciting time not only for the industry, but for the the public.
Carmen has been part of the Remedy Tulalip team since it opened its doors in August. As a Tribal member and front of house lead, Carmen is excited to share his knowledge and passion for the wellness possibilities cannabis offers.
“When I learned the tribe was opening the store I really wanted to be part of it and the opportunity to give back to the community,” he reflects.
As he shares stories of patrons’ success in using CBD and whole plant cannabis to eliminate medications, he’s inspired to use all that he’s learned to help others seeking alternatives to pharmaceuticals. Carmen looks forward to educating those community members who may be unsure but are looking to eradicate self-medicating with prescriptions or illicit drugs to address pain or mental health issues.
“Almost every day we have someone come in who shares a story about how cannabis or CBD is helping them live healthier and happier,” Carmen says.
Education: At the store level, Cannabis Concierges are both knowledgeable about cannabis and the unique array of products on their shelves, and committed to ongoing education.
“I thought I had a lot of knowledge before I started working with Remedy Tulalip,” Carmen says, “but through the ongoing education we have, it’s really opened my eyes to all cannabis and CBD can do.”
“We’re trying to break the stigma about cannabis use and increase people’s understanding,” he explains.
Experience: Underlining the importance of the interplay between mental wellbeing, physical health and spiritual connection, Sunshine Jess, manager at Remedy, references a guest who finds benefit from RSO products to manage cancer symptoms. Another regular finds it helpful in her struggle to stay clean from heroin, while making the cannabis education she gains at Remedy part of her new weekly routine.
Looking ahead, Carmen and Sunshine look forward to evolving the current endeavour into growing and production, with plans underway for Remedy Tulalip to begin cultivating their own crops. “We can’t wait to get to the farm and grow these opportunities even more,” Sunshine says.
