MARYSVILLE – Major construction is taking place at all four I-5 on- and off-ramps at 116th Street this weekend, causing long closures and detours.
The southbound off-ramp won’t reopen until Monday at 5 a.m. Detour route – continue south on I-5, exit at 88th, head west, turn right on 27th Avenue and continue to 116th St. NE.
The I-5 northbound on-ramp also won’t reopen until July 30 at 5 a.m. Detour route – from Marysville, heading west, crossover I-5, turn left on 27th, turn left on 88th St. NE, then turn left on to I-5 northbound.
There also is a detour from Tulalip, heading east, crossover I-5, turn left on State Street, turn left on 172nd Avenue N, then turn right on to I-5 northbound.
The Tulalip Tribes contractor, Reece Construction, is constructing four new ramps at this interchange that will connect with 116th St. NE on the center of the bridge over I-5. The four existing ramps will then be demolished.
Temporary Traffic Control will be in place during the construction including signs, barricades and flaggers to divert traffic away from the work and keep the public moving.
