MARYSVILLE — Traffic has been tied up for hours after two people were killed in a head-on crash on Highway 9 near Marysville Jan. 2, 2015.

The crashed occurred around 12:15 p.m. near 84th Street NE.

A man and woman died at the scene. Two others were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

The pair who died were southbound in a Ford Saturn when a couple in a pickup collided with them. Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis said the man and woman in the truck apparently crossed the center line.

Traffic was blocked in both directions of Highway 9. The accident occurred near the new roundabout east of Marysville Getchell High School.
