9/11 remembrance ceremony at Marysville Library

The city, police department and fire district of Marysville have scheduled a 9/11 remembrance ceremony for 8:46 a.m. Sept. 11 at the police and firefighters' memorial in front of the Marysville Library, located at 6120 Grove St.

MARYSVILLE — The city, police department and fire district of Marysville have scheduled a 9/11 remembrance ceremony for 8:46 a.m. Sept. 11 at the police and firefighters’ memorial in front of the Marysville Library, located at 6120 Grove St.

The brief event will include the Honor Guard presenting the colors, playing “Taps” and ringing the bell to mark the occasion, and will honor the first responders who perished in the World Trade Center attacks, as well as Marysville Fire Lt. Jeff Thornton, who also died on that day.

Marysville Mayor Dennis Kendall and other elected officials, as well as police and fire personnel, have been invited to attend, and breakfast will follow at Marysville Fire Station 62, located at 10701 Shoultes Rd.
