ARLINGTON — It was a rainy and wet evening when Marysville Getchell visited Arlington High School in the opening Wesco 3A North league game.
The crosstown showdown was highly contested with back and forth scoring and multiple turnovers for both teams.
MG’s Collin Montez rushed for 206 yards and scored a touchdown in the process. MG continued to fight for every yard, but the Arlington’s defense pulled through in the end to give the Eagles a well-deserved 27-21 victory over Marysville Getchell.
In another Wesco 3A North game, Marysville Pilchuck dominated Stanwood 44-14 with MP’s Killian Page rushing for 198 yards and running in for two touchdowns.
And despite a second-half rally by Lakewood, King’s held on to defeat lakewood 16-12. Lakewood scored twice in the second half with a 61-yard fumble recovery by Curtis Patton and Paulmer Gregory connecting with Matt Seiber for a 4-yard touchdown.
