Arson suspected in early morning fire in Marysville

At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, the Marysville Fire District was dispatched to a report of a commercial fire in the 13500 block of 51st Avenue NE.

MARYSVILLE — At approximately 12:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, the Marysville Fire District was dispatched to a report of a commercial fire in the 13500 block of 51st Avenue NE.

Firefighters arrived at 12:26 a.m. and located a fire underneath a covered play area involving a mobile man lift.Original reports stated, “that a shed was on fire” the first arriving captain reported a fire condition involving a piece of equipment extending to the covered play area. Firefighters fought the fire offensively and the fire was under control within 10 minutes. No firefighter injuries were reported.

The loss has been updated to approximately $45,000.At the height of the incident more than 15 firefighters battled the blaze with mutual aid provided by city of Arlington and Silvana (Snohomish County Fire District 19).

The fire was investigated by the Marysville Police Department and the Marysville Fire District and was determined to be intentional (incendiary). The Marysville Police Department will continue to investigate the fire. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Marysville Police Department through 9-1-1.
