MARYSVILLE – A benefit to help employees of The Village Restaurant, which had its interior destroyed by fire Feb. 19, will take place at nearby Fanny’s Restaurant March 2.

The event will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 505 Cedar Ave.

A restaurant spokesman has said the restaurant is expected to open temporarily in the vacant Majestic Cafe in Everett, 2929 Colby Ave. Mitch Carson, entertainment manager for the Wild Hare, which was located inside the Village, said it could take a year to rebuild it.

The fire put at least 20 hourly employees out of work, Carson said.
