Cabela’s to host Ladies Day Out

TULALIP — Cabela's Tulalip will celebrate the growing number of women enjoying the outdoors with Ladies Day Out on April 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This bi-annual event encourages women to try out the latest outdoor apparel, camping gear, personal firearms and other supplies. The first 100 women to register at the store will receive a free gift.

TULALIP — Cabela’s Tulalip will celebrate the growing number of women enjoying the outdoors with Ladies Day Out on April 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This bi-annual event encourages women to try out the latest outdoor apparel, camping gear, personal firearms and other supplies. The first 100 women to register at the store will receive a free gift.

With more than 5 million women participating in shooting sports, an increase of 46.5 percent since 2001, this growing demographic will enjoy classes including:

• Let’s Go Hunting

• Ladies Introduction to Handguns

• Bows are for Girls! Women’s Intro to Archery

For women seeking to expand their knowledge and expertise in other areas, such as outdoor cooking, fly tying, orienteering and wilderness survival, classes will include:

• The Need to Know of Fishing

• Learning to Fly Fish

• Outdoor Cooking Made Quick and Easy

Ladies in attendance will have an opportunity to meet local professional Jennifer Stahl of NW Fishing Guides who brings to the event more than nine years as a local fishing guide and will present a seminar entitled, “The Need to Know of Fishing.”

Classes will be taught by local experts and are free of charge.

Product specialists and industry experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide recommendations while offering suggestions to help ladies make the most of their next outdoor adventure.

“Ladies Day Out is a celebration of women in the outdoors,” said Katie Sanford, Retail Marketing Manager. “Cabela’s is proud to offer women not only the gear, but also the expert knowledge to pursue their outdoor passions.”

According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation Firearms Retailer Survey Report, 2011 Edition, 61 percent of retailers surveyed saw an increase in female customers in 2010 over 2009.

All ladies in attendance will be eligible to enter a drawing for a $1,500 Cabela’s gift card. Winners do not need to be present to win, but must be 18 years of age or older.
