MARYSVILLE Marysville Parks and Recreation invites your family to Touch a Truck, an exciting annual event that lets kids see, touch and get behind the wheel of public works big rigs, police and fire vehicles and other rigs that children see out on the streets every day.
Touch a Truck will be 10 a.m. to
1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Marysville (Totem) Junior High Schools Asbery Field, 1605 7th St. NE. Admission is free.
Marysville Public Works, Police, Parks and Recreation and Marysville Fire District personnel will bring young people face to face with their favorite vehicles. Kids can climb into and get behind the wheel of dump trucks, a vactor truck, street sweeper, garbage trucks, police vehicles, fire engines, and aid car and many other vehicles. Snohomish County Search and Rescue and Community Transit vehicles will be also be showcased.
Touch a Truck lets young people feel what its like to actually be up in the cab and in the drivers seat of some of our biggest vehicles, said Tara Mizell, Recreation Services Manager. Judging by the smiles we see every year, youll want to bring a camera.
Families also learn about the vehicles and the services they provide from the highly-skilled drivers and crews themselves, Mizell added.
In addition to vehicles, the Marysville Noon Rotary Club Bouncy House and Jubie train will round out the fun and entertainment, weather permitting. Marysville Kiwanis will offer food and beverages available to purchase, raising funds for their community programs.
