Special Eagles

Registration for the Arlington Eagles Special Olympics is due April 1. The Special Olympic Team is seeking athletes, volunteers and a shot put coach. Track and field training will start soon. Practice is 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at Arlington High School, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., in Arlington. Athletes must be 8-years-old and above. “We have athletes of all ages and abilities,” said Coach Sandy Catiss. Drama troupe on tour

The University Players, an eight-person touring drama troupe from George Fox University in Newberg, Ore., will perform at Olympic Place Retirement on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 6 pm. The Players perform short plays that they write and develop themselves. The plays last from five to 25 minutes each.

Volleyball signups

The Arlington Boys & Girls Club is offering coed volleyball for grades 1-12. Signups will run through Friday, March 13 and take place at the Arlington Club. Cost is $70 plus a current membership. Fused Glass-Beyond the Basics

This workshop taught by Janet Foley is a wonderful opportunity to explore fused glass while making your own beautiful fused glass projects. You need not bring anything but your ideas and sense of artistic adventure. There will be an overview of glass fusing and then let the creativity begin! Class will be held from 6-9pm on Monday, March 16th at Jennings Memorial Park Barn in Marysville (6915 Armar Road, Marysville). The registration fee is $35 and the material fee ranges from $25 to $45 depending on the project chosen. Included in the materials fee are all of the materials needed to make the chosen project and glass firing. My Grown Up and Me – Recycle Crafts

Looking for new ideas for a fun outing with your child? “My Grown up and Me” is an exciting class where you and your child will explore crafts, stories, song and movement with a Recycle Crafts theme. Artists ages 7-13 will learn the techniques for pulling, pushing, poking, rolling, pressing and smoothing clay in this workshop taught by local artist Vicki Carver. This seminar is for 1st Time Home Buyers, Veterans, Disabled Persons, and All School District Employees. Up to $10,000 down payment assistance ($15,000 for disabled) is available through the Washington State Housing Finance Commission.
