Haggen collects for Haiti relief
Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores are collecting donations to fund World Vision’s relief efforts in Haiti, which was devastated by a Jan. 12 earthquake.
World Vision, based in Federal Way, is using cash donations to send the most urgent of life-saving supplies, such as water and medicine, to Haitian victims of the earthquake. World Vision has been working in Haiti since 1959 and has had an office in its capital of Port-au-Prince since 1978.
Customers may make donations of any amount at Haggen checkstands through Feb. 9. For more information, visit www.WorldVision.org.

Danner at Bookworks
Craig Joseph Danner, author of the award-winning “Himalayan Dhaba”, will be at The Bookworks on Saturday, Jan. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m., reading from and signing his new novel, “The Fires of Edgarville.” The Bookworks is located at 1510 Third Street in downtown Marysville, 360-659-4997. Books will be available.
LWSD board sets meeting
The Lakewood School District Board of Directors will be holding a special board meeting on Feb. 3, from 4:30 – 6 p.m. in the Technology Training Lab at English Crossing Elementary School. The agenda will include Discussion of School Board Governance and review of WSSDA recommended Board Standards.
