ARLINGTON — A crash blocked all southbound lanes of I-5, sending people to the hospital and causing a miles-long backup Sunday afternoon.
A Chevrolet Suburban towing a travel trailer crashed before 1:30 p.m. The SUV lost control, hit the barrier and rolled, according to the Washington State Patrol. The trailer was flipped on its side across the road, backing up traffic for three miles behind the bridge over the Stillaguamish River.
Trooper Heather Axtman said seven people from Granite Falls, including two minors, were taken to a hospital. They all had minor injuries, she said, and were all in the Suburban.
The SUV was traveling too fast for conditions, according to the state patrol.
By 3 p.m., traffic, which has been re-routed, was able to get across the bridge after the trailer was towed away.
