Snohomish County Sheriff detectives are investigating a sexual assault that happened early Monday morning at a house in the 6800 block of 21st Drive NE in Marysville.
A woman reported that she woke up about 4 a.m. to find a man with a knife in her bedroom. The man raped the woman and then left the house. The woman, in her early 30s, was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released. She did not suffer any injuries in addition to the sexual assault.
Deputies and K9 searched the area but were not able to find the suspect. There was no sign of forced entry in the house. It is not known how the suspect entered the house. The womans two children were asleep during the attack and did not see or hear anything. They were not injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 45 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall to 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He had short brown hair, balding on top, with some gray near the temples. The suspect had hazel eyes and a scar on his left ear lobe. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The suspects nose was injured by the victim during the attack.
