OLYMPIA — State Rep. Hans Dunshee is inviting the citizens of the 44th Legislative District to a town hall meeting via telephone so interested people can ask questions, share ideas or comment on issues that matter to their families and neighborhoods.

“Every time that I listen to somebody, I learn something,” Dunshee said. “It’s always a pleasure to talk with folks, and while I’ll still have old fashioned face-to-face town halls, a lot of people tell me they like the chance to do this by telephone instead of driving to a meeting.”

Dunshee is a former small business owner and volunteer firefighter who chairs the House Capital Budget Committee, which controls the state’s construction budget. One of the biggest issues the Legislature tackled this year was the Jobs Act, which the governor recently signed into law.

“This will create 18,000 jobs in every corner of our state, quickly,” Dunshee said. “And the economic development projects that folks in hardhats are building will create an estimated 9,000 long-term jobs. I could not be happier for all the construction workers who’ve been unemployed and will now get back to work, building a better Washington.”

The telephone town hall will start at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 7, and end at 7 p.m.
