ARLINGTON – Family and friends of a missing Arlington girl are seeking the public’s help to find her.

They are trying to locate Shyanne Williamson, a 16-year-old runaway who went missing in Arlington on Dec. 3 and has not been seen since.

Shyanne’s mother, Angela Williamson, appealed to the community for help in getting her back home at a time of year when there is no better place to be.

“We just want to get our baby girl home for Christmas,” Williamson said. “I plead that anyone that has information on this case or anything, please call it in.”

Shyanne is described as 5-foot-1 inches tall and 110 pounds. She has shoulder-length blonde hair; however, it is believed to have been dyed a darker color and blue. She has a mole on the tip of her nose, which is pierced. She also has a tattoo on her right forearm.

She was last seen in Arlington with a man described as 31-years-old, with short dark hair, and driving a black VW Jetta with a light-colored skull and flame-like detailing on the hood. Family members believe they may be in the Arlington, Darrington or Marysville areas.

Family members have no idea how the two met, but speculated perhaps on social media, said Christine Elston, Shyanne’s cousin.

“No one in our family has ever met him, and none of her friends have ever met him,” said Elston, who spoke at an Arlington City Council meeting Dec. 18 looking for support to help get the word out.

“We believe Shyanne has gotten herself into something that she cannot get out of alone,” Elston said.

Shyanne’s and the man’s social media sites have been locked down since she left.

Elston spoke with Mayor Barb Tolbert and Police Chief Jonathan Ventura after the meeting. They offered to help in the ways that they can, as it’s a sheriff’s department case.

Elston said this is the second time in the last month that Shyanne went missing with the same man.

She left the first time on Nov. 21, packed a bag and left her car and cell phone behind, but communicated with family and friends.

After 11 days, she returned, and family took her to an Everett hospital for an examination and any signs of trauma.

But within 24 hours, she ran away again with just her boots and no coat, family members said.

Elston said the sheriff’s office has Shyanne listed as a runaway rather than missing, so policies don’t enable detectives to pursue the case for 30 days.

Shyanne is listed as missing in the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children database, but family members are working to get her listed as “endangered,” which would lift that 30-day lid.

“I don’t know where we can go with this, because we keep hitting roadblocks and nobody is pursuing moving forward with it,” Elston said. “Her name is not getting out there other than information that our family is able to generate.”

They have posted “missing” flyers in the area and issued appeals for support on social media.
