TULALIP – An early morning fire Aug. 28 destroyed a mobile home and sent one person to the hospital.
“At 5:10 this morning we received a dispatch to a residential structure fire in the 5100 block of Seventh Avenue NE,” said Division Chief Tom Maloney of the Marysville Fire District. “At 5:19 a.m. the first engine arrived to a 100 percent involved mobile home fire. There was a total of 10 occupants, including five adults and five children. Everyone was out of the mobile home upon our arrival.”
Maloney said there was one minor injury to one of the adults who was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation and smoke related injuries.
At total of 55 fire personnel were on scene. Members of the Marysville Fire District responded, as did personnel from Lake Stevens, Getchell, Tulalip Bay, North County and Everett. Crews had the fire knocked down within 20 minutes according to Maloney.
Maloney reported that in addition to the destroyed mobile home, the fire also totaled one vehicle, damaged two other vehicles and caused minor damage to one structure. He added that there were oxygen tanks in the home which could have been responsible for the reported explosions.
The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage and is being investigated by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal and the Tulalip Police Department.
