MARYSVILLE — Marysville School District Board Director Donald Hatch, Jr. is set to retire from the board at its Dec. 7 meeting.
Hatch was originally elected in 1989 and served three consecutive four-year terms starting in 1989, 1993 and 1997. He also served as board president from 1995-1996. He was re-elected in 2005 to serve an additional four-year term, giving him a combined total of 16 years served as a board member.
A celebration to honor Hatch will take place Dec. 7, with a dinner at 5:30 p.m. and the rest of the celebration coinciding with the regular session board meeting at 6:30 p.m.
The district issued a statement Dec. 2 extending its thanks and appreciation to Hatch for his service on the board and his commitment to the children of Marysville.
“I have been serving children for 47 years and will continue to serve children for the rest of my life,” Hatch said.
