Ballots for the Aug. 6 primary election were mailed July 18 and voters have started to return their completed ballots with Snohomish County Elections reporting that of the 333,994 ballots mailed out countywide, approximately 9.5 percent had been returned as of July 30 at 8:53 a.m.
For the Snohomish County Council District 1 race, which features five local candidates including Gary Wright, Ken Klein, Bill Blake, Carsten Mullin and Sean Olson, the Elections Office reports that 87,545 ballots were sent out. As of 8:53 a.m. on July 30, 8,715, or 9.95 percent, had been returned.
For the Arlington City Council Position 7 race, which includes candidates Mike Hopson, Scott Keith and Jan Schuette, 10,131 ballots were sent out. As of July 30, 1,106, or 10.91 percent, had been returned.
For the Lakewood School District Director District 1 race, which includes Lionel (Pete) Espinoza, Oscar Escalante and Michael Blank, 8,614 ballots were mailed out. Of those, 888, or 10.31 percent, had been returned as of July 30.
For the Arlington Transportation Benefit District measure, 10,131 ballots were sent out. As of July 30, 1,106, or 10.91 percent had been returned.
You can return your ballot by mail or drop it off at one of the local 24-hour secure drop boxes.
Voters can check the Elections and Voter Registration Division website to see if the Auditor’s Office has received their ballot.
