TULALIP — The Tulalip boys basketball team has taken full advantage of its week off after getting back to state regionals Saturday, Feb. 28 against Entiat noon at Wenatchee High School.
It will be the Hawks’ third season in a row to make it back to regionals.
“We pride ourselves to get back every year, and all the hard work has paid off,” assistant coach Cyrus Fryberg said. “Were not satisfied, we won one and lost one.”
The Hawks have been working on their defense and the weak spots that were exposed in district rounds.
“When we play good defense, we play good offense,” Fryberg said. “I really worry about these guys buckling down and playing defense.”
Fryberg will be looking for contributions from seniors Jesse Louie and Ayrik Miranda and junior Robert Miles.
“They all played in state,” Fryberg said. “They know what it’s like to lose, but they also know what it’s like to win.”
