MARYSVILLE – Hundreds of people attended the Memorial Day event at the Marysville Cemetery May 25.
State Sen. John McCoy, D-Tulalip, was the guest speaker.
Jim Sewell, commander of American Legion Post 178, gave the welcome and announced the presentation of the colors. Cadet Lester Flores sang the National Anthem.
McCoy spoke after a prayer, and then Sewell announced the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Flower Presentation.
Taps was played after the Honor Guard Rifle Salute. The short event ended with a closing prayer, retirement of colors and closing remarks.
The Marysville-Pilchuck High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps provided the color guard, and John Rants directed the M-P band.
An open house followed at the legion hall, 113 Cedar St.
