MARYSVILLE – Marysville-Pilchuck High School alumni and Marysville residents and leaders are coming together Jan. 27 to plan for a better future. The MP Memorial Foundation previously was involved in the creation and sale of the “Pray For Pilchuck” car-window decals.

Their board is now seeking assistance to build out their two-year plan and intends to mobilize the community through scholarships and grants awarded to students, individuals and groups committed to improving the quality of life for Marysville-Tulalip residents.

“Our goal is to shift the city’s trajectory,” said foundation president and M-PHS Alumna Danna Watson-Gibson. “We are focused on providing the resources necessary to help students and families make the best decisions for themselves and their community now and in the years to come.”

Funds raised by the organization will go toward providing scholarships to students who seek two-year and four-year college degrees,  grants for local groups engaging in projects that benefit the community, and education and programming that elevate issues surrounding social media and bullying.

The public meeting is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Big Red Barn at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Rd.

Board members ask those choosing to attend to have an interest in participating in a committee or offering their skills and resources.
