MARYSVILLE – Marysville police arrested a man on five domestic violence warrants Wednesday, Dec. 31, after a 3 1/2 hour manhunt.
The man was arrested at about 11:35 a.m. after police found him at a residence.
The hunt started at about 7:50 a.m. when police saw the man walking by the railroad tracks near the 1400 block of State Avenue near Radio Shack. When they went to warn him about the dangers of walking near the tracks, they recognized him as a man with warrants out on him.
“We wanted to get him off the streets,” police spokesman Robb Lamoureaux said.
When the man saw police, he took off to a marshy, creek area dense with trees and foliage.
“It’s brutal down there, hard to maneuver around,” Lamoureaux said.
A K9 unit was brought it to help track the man, who was booked into the Marysville Jail.
