MARYSVILLE — The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has released information about the man who was struck and killed on southbound Interstate 5 near the 88th Street overpass in Marysville on Jan. 18.
Joshua J. Irwin, a 27-year-old Arlington resident, died of multiple blunt impacts, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office, which deemed the death an accident.
According to Trooper Keith Leary, the Washington State Patrol dispatch center began to receive calls at about 6:57 p.m. that evening to report the accident. He added that several witnesses said Irwin may have been between the right lane and center lane prior to being hit and that he may have been hit by several vehicles.
“For today, we are still contacting leads obtained from people calling us about what they saw,” Leary said Jan. 20. “We thank those who have called and still encourage citizens to call if they saw anything that night.”
