MARYSVILLE — The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce will conduct its candidates forum for the Marysville City Council during its Oct. 9 Business Before Hours meeting, starting at 7:15 a.m. at the Tulalip Resort Casino.

City Council Position 2 incumbent Donna Wright will face off against challenger Quinn King, while City Council Position 3 challenger Patrick Larson Jr. will go up against incumbent Jeff Seibert.

Both Wright and Seibert have held City Council seats since 2002. Wright was first elected to the Council in January of 1990, and served two four-year terms before returning to the office in 2002. Both King and Larson are opposed to previous development, annexation and taxation decisions by the Council.

The candidates forum has been scheduled to accommodate mail-in ballot timeframes and ensure that voters have the opportunity to hear from their candidates. The Business Before Hours’ start time has been moved up by 15 minutes to allow for in-depth questions developed by the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee.

The forum will be moderated by Chamber Government Affairs Chair David Toyer, of Toyer Consulting and Advocacy. Each candidate will respond to a series of questions, on issues impacting Marysville’s businesses and residents, and the program will conclude with each candidate posing their own question to their opponents.

Please RSVP with the Chamber by calling 360-659-7700 or e-mailing Kimberlie@marysvilletulalipchamber.com. The cost is $23.00 for pre-registered guests and $28.00 at the door.
