MARYSVILLE — Worried about an outstanding warrant you have with the Marysville Municipal Court?

Court officials want to put your mind at ease. The court is offering a one-time only amnesty program Feb. 1-27 for people who have outstanding warrants. Marysville provides court services to the cities of Arlington and Lake Stevens, which means people with warrants issued by the Marysville court in those cities are also eligible.

“If you have an outstanding warrant in our court, now is the time to clear it from the system,” said Municipal Court Judge Fred Gillings, who authorized the amnesty. “We hope this amnesty program will give people the added incentive to take care of their business with the court.”

Simply show up in person at the front counter in the court located at 1015 State Ave. between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and sign for a new court date. All outstanding warrants in the Municipal Court system will be recalled. Police will not arrest anyone who shows up to square their warrant with the court.

“This is an opportunity for people with outstanding warrants who have been afraid to take care of them in the past to come into the courthouse and clear them for good,” Gillings said.

Marysville Municipal Court currently has more than 1,800 outstanding warrants and the hope is to clear some of the warrants and caseload.
