Marysville Fire District honors retiring Battalion Chief Tucker

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Fire District is commemorating the retirement of Battalion Chief Rex Tucker, who has served with the fire district for 41 years, beginning as a volunteer in March of 1973. Tucker was hired as a career firefighter in 1980, and worked his way through the ranks to chief officer.

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Fire District is commemorating the retirement of Battalion Chief Rex Tucker, who has served with the fire district for 41 years, beginning as a volunteer in March of 1973. Tucker was hired as a career firefighter in 1980, and worked his way through the ranks to chief officer.

“Rex has been a person who’s provided a practical approach in shaping our organization into what it is today,” Marysville Fire Chief Greg Corn said. “He represents an integral part of the department, and he will be missed.”

Tucker has been an active member of the Marysville community his entire life. His two sons, Jason and Jeff, are both firefighters with the Marysville Fire District. Corn expressed his appreciation to the Tucker family for supporting Rex through his many years of service, and wished Tucker himself all the best during his retirement years.

Tucker will be honored during an open house on Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at Marysville Fire District Station 62, located at 10701 Shoutles Rd.
