MARYSVILLE – At approximately 4:47 a.m. on Saturday, the Marysville Fire District was dispatched to a residential fire in the 5200 block of 116th Street NE. Firefighters arrived at 4:53 a.m. and located a fully involved two-story residential duplex.
Original reports said there were “explosions from the home.” The first arriving captain reported a heavy fire condition from the structure and confirmed a working fire. Firefighters fought the fire defensively and the fire was under control within 30 minutes. The origin of this fire is being investigated by the Marysville Fire District Fire Marshal’s Office and Marysville Police Department. In addition, the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office assisted with their canine. The fire is still under investigation.
The estimated loss is $280,000. There were no injuries reported.
At the height of the incident more than 24 firefighters battled the blaze, with mutual aid provided by Getchell (Snohomish County Fire District 22), City of Arlington, and Silvana (Snohomish County Fire District 19).
