MARYSVILLE — At 9:20 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, the Marysville Fire District was dispatched to a residential fire in the 9400 block of 62nd Drive NE. Firefighters arrived at 9:27 p.m. and located a fire in a two-story residential structure.

Original reports stated the house was on fire. The first arriving captain reported a two-story split-level residential structure, with fire visible from the first and second floors, and through the roof. Firefighters fought the fire defensively, and the fire was under control within 30 minutes, confined to the structure. The structure was not occupied at the time of the fire. One minor firefighter injury was reported.

The fire’s dollar loss has been estimated at $275,000.

At the height of the incident, more than 27 firefighters battled the blaze, with mutual aid provided by Snohomish County Getchell Fire District 22.

The fire is still under investigation, and the Red Cross has assisted the displaced occupants.

The Marysville Fire District would like to remind everyone to check their smoke alarms regularly. In addition, the installation of residential fire sprinklers reduces fire damage.
