MARYSVILLE – Due to the inclement weather, the city of Marysville offered the following emergency alert Nov. 22.
Cold air coming down from Canada colliding with warm/moist air coming in off of the Pacific has resulted in the current snow-producing event. This storm system is producing highly variable snow amounts as the bands of moisture sweep through the area – expect light/heavy snow bands to come and go. Marysville has received 1-2 inches of snow thus far, with another 1-4 inches anticipated.
Temperatures are getting colder, with wind chill driven temps ranging from 10 degrees above to 10 degrees below zero this evening. With the continued cold through Thursday the snow and ice that accumulates will stay around.
Marysville Public Works Street crews were out in full force this morning and tended to all primary and secondary arterial routes. Four trucks will be plowing and sanding primary roads until 7 p.m., with at least one crew on shift overnight, with five trucks being dispatched at 4 a.m. for sanding and plowing all primary and secondary arterials. The following roads are closed overnight as of 7 p.m. Monday:
* 84th Street NE (Getchell Hill Road)
* Ingraham Boulevard
* 67th Ave.
* 52nd St.
The Parks and Recreation Department announces that all classes are cancelled tonight.
Please exercise caution in your commute, remember your outdoor plumbing and make sure it’s wrapped, and remember your pets and livestock. Additionally with the winds coming in this evening we could experience some power outages – make sure you are prepared.
