MARYSVILLE — Linens-N-Things store-closing sales began Oct. 17 at the chain’s remaining 371 stores in 48 states, one of them at 17016 Twin Lakes Ave. in Marysville.
While the chain is touting discounts of as much as 30 percent on its home furnishings, in time for holiday shopping, less clear is what this will mean for the employees of the Marysville Linens-N-Things store.
Neither local store representatives nor Sue Kenney, a spokesperson for the Linens-N-Things chain, could specify when the Marysville store might be closing its doors for good. Local representatives speculated that “we probably won’t know until two weeks prior,” but otherwise declined to comment.
The store closing sale is being conducted by a joint venture group comprised of Hilco Merchant Resources, Gordon Brothers Group, Hudson Capital, SB Capital Group LLC, Great American Group LLC and Tiger/Nassi Group.
Michael Keefe, president and CEO of Hilco Merchant Resources, stated that they “don’t expect this sale to last very long.”
