MARYSVILLE – The city of Marysville starting April 1 will offer free, screened fill dirt and topsoil mix for residents to use in gardens, lawns or for round-the-yard projects.
The city stockpiles reclaimed, native soil compiled and used for in-house construction projects around Marysville, and has more than necessary to meet city project needs, said Paul Kinney, Lead Worker II in the Sewer-Storm Water Division of Public Works. City officials want to share the extra with the public.
To pick up your own free material, visit the Kellogg Marsh Reservoir site at 100th Street NE and 67th Avenue. Gates are open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors must complete and sign a Hold Harmless Agreement. The fill dirt is offered first come, first served.
