MARYSVILLE – As the tinsel comes down and the holiday season comes to an end, many households wonder what to do with their Christmas trees.

Marysville Parks and Recreation Department and Marysville-area Boy Scouts have a solution: recycle your tree by leaving it at curbside for pickup.

This tree-recycling program will help give your tree new life as recycled mulch and chips that City crews will use at various local parks and trails, and will help Scouts raise funds for activities.

Boy Scouts from Troop 80 in Marysville will pick up your tree between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4 only. Please have your tree at curbside by 8 a.m.

When you’re ready to have your green tree collected (flocked trees will not be accepted), leave it at the curb the night before pickup. Scouts will deliver it to the tree collection site at Jennings Memorial Park Ball Field Parking Lot at 55th Avenue and 70th Street, eastside of the park. If you prefer, you can bring your tree to the park the same day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you have not already received one, look for a donation envelope at your door between now and prior to the tree pickup date. Donations are optional. If you would like to donate, please place your donation in an envelope and attach it to your tree, or mail your donation check to Troop 80, 6907 75th Drive NE, Marysville, WA 98270.
