MARYSVILLE — Marysville-Pilchuck defeated Kamiak 41-15 in its season opener at QuilCeda Stadium Friday night. M-P’s Austin Joyner scored a 47-yard touchdown at the start of the first quarter and scored another on fourth down in the second quarter. Killian Page and Hunter Trueax added touchdowns for M-P in the second half.

In other local games, Arlington beat Cascade 41-27 and Liberty beat Lakewood 27-22. Alex Hayward took a kickoff 99 yards for one score and also had an 8-yard TD for Arlington. Kyle Smith added a 52-yard run. For Lakewood, Blake Watts passed for scores to Josh Dickey and Matt Seiber and Palmer Gregory ran for a 68-yard score, but Liberty scored with 1:03 left to win the game.
