MARYSVILLE — Marysville Police responded to a burglary in progress call at a home in the 1400 block of Sixth Street just prior to 8 a.m. on Nov. 15. Officers were advised that two males were in the backyard at the residence stealing tools out of a shed and loading them into a pickup truck that had been backed into the yard.
Officers were able to immediately take one of the suspects into custody and relayed that the other suspect had fled on foot. Shortly thereafter the second suspect was taken into custody about a block away by other responding officers.
During the investigation officers learned the suspects had knocked on the front door of the home and when no one answered they entered the backyard. The resident, who had been asleep was awakened by the knocking and called police. Officers also learned the pickup truck the suspects were in had been stolen in Mount Vernon earlier in the morning.
A 36-year-old Seattle man and 39-year-old Kenmore man were booked into the Snohomish County Jail for second degree burglary and possession of stolen property.
